Permettez-moi d’abord de vous féliciter pour votre qualification pour la 3e édition du Championnat Dominion des clubs de curling. Au nom de Curling Québec, je vous souhaite la bienvenue à Québec et au Club de curling Victoria.

Pour la plupart des joueurs, une participation à un championnat provincial représente la concrétisation d’un rêve. Pour d’autres, par contre, cette  compétition ne se veut qu’une importante étape, l’objectif ultime demeurant non seulement l’obtention de la bannière des champions provinciaux mais aussi celle des nationaux par la suite.

J’espère que cette fin de semaine de compétition vous permettra de donner le meilleur de vous-mêmes. Mais la compétition étant ce qu’elle est, une seule équipe méritera le droit de représenter le Québec au Championnat canadien qui se déroulera au Club de curling Richmond en Colombie-Britannique du 21 au 26 novembre 2011.

Le comité organisateur, dirigé par Mme Claudy Daoust, travaille depuis plusieurs mois déjà, afin de render mémorable votre visite au Victoria. Merci à tous les bénévoles pour les efforts investis afin de faire de cet événement un grand succès.

Finalement, un merci spécial à la compagnie d’assurance générale Dominion du Canada, partenaire majeur associé à ce championnat provincial, ainsi qu’aux autres partenaires. Sans vous, la présentation de cette  compétition ne pourrait être possible.

First, allow me to congratulate you for qualifying for the 3rd Edition of The Dominion Curling Club Championship. On behalf of Curling Québec, welcome to Quebec City and the Victoria Curling Club.

For most curlers, taking part in a provincial championship is like a dream come true. For others, this competition is but an important step, the final objective being not only to take home the provincial champions’ banner but eventually, the national one.

I truly hope this weekend of competition will see you play to the best of your abilities. But competition being what it is, only one team will gain the right to defend the Québec colors at the national championship, which will be held at the Richmond Curling Club in British Columbia from November 21 to 26, 2011.

The organizing committee, presided by Mrs. Claudy Daoust, has been working hard for quite some time to make your visit to Québec a memorable one. I thank all of the volunteers for the efforts they have made to make the Championship a resounding success.

Finally, a very special thank you to The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company, proud sponsors of this Championship, as well as all of the other sponsors associated with this event. Without you, having this wonderful competition would be impossible.
